01 / CONCEPT DESIGN & BUDGETING
We work through your livestock, handling requirements, site and budget to develop a layout suited to your operation. As the design develops, we update the budget so you can add, remove, simplify or stage features to suit your priorities. This helps resolve potential issues early, while changes are straightforward to make.
THIS STAGE INCLUDES
A tailored concept layout.
Progressive budget updates and practical options to manage costs.
Review of site constraints and potential cost risks.
Up to three rounds of major changes, plus unlimited minor changes until concept approval.
Final concept drawings and a budget summary outlining scope, assumptions, inclusions and exclusions.
Major changes are substantial revisions to the layout, capacity or handling flow. Minor changes are small adjustments within the agreed layout.
$3,500 + GST is our minimum concept design fee. We confirm the fee before starting, based on the size and complexity of your project.
Payment is 80% upfront, with 20% payable before final drawings are released. Your concept drawings are yours to keep, but are not intended for construction.

A
When you purchase your yard from us
We use the approved design to prepare a detailed supply or build quote, including the price, inclusions, exclusions and any outstanding allowances. Construction drawings for our agreed scope are included in your supply or build price, with no separate construction-drawing fee.
FULL DESIGN-FEE CREDIT
If your purchases for the project exceed $150,000 excluding GST, all design fees paid are credited in full against your final supply or build invoice.
This applies to turnkey builds and purchases of prefabricated components such as gates and panels.

When you build independently
If you build the yard yourself or use another supplier, construction drawings are available for an additional fee starting from $5,000 per yard + GST. The combined concept and construction-drawing fee therefore starts from $8,500 per yard + GST.
We confirm the construction-drawing fee before starting. These drawings document the approved concept and are yours to use to build that yard. Your chosen suppliers and contractors will need to confirm their own pricing.
PAYMENT & CHANGES
Payment is 80% upfront, with 20% payable before final release. Substantial changes after concept approval are quoted separately before work proceeds.

Travel time, agreed before booking a visit.
AT COST
Accommodation if an overnight stay is required.
$170 / HOUR + GST
Onsite surveying and post-hole set-out.
Our robotic total station can measure existing infrastructure and mark out every post hole to approximately 10 mm accuracy under suitable site conditions. It helps reduce layout clashes and installation errors, and can save yard builders days of measuring and setting out — including if you build it yourself. Travel, accommodation, surveying and set-out charges are not included in the design-fee credit.
